Sheepbreeding day Texel
Monday, September 7, 2026 Who will win the Bronze Texel sheep award (for the best yearling ewe)? Which older ram will be crowned champion, and which breeders will produce the top ten ram lambs? That will be revealed on the first Monday of September, when the Texel Sheep Breeding Day is held at the Groeneplaats. The jury will select the best animals. The judging begins in the morning and lasts until the afternoon. In anticipation, the breeders will open their doors to the public on Saturday and Sunday.

The participating breeders are Altenburg (Westerweg 80), Barhorst (Oosterweg 26), De Haan (Ruyslaan 79), J. Hin (Spangerweg 25), E.B. and C.J. Hin (Pontweg 101), Kolk (Mieland 2), Kooiman (Hoornderweg 4), Tjepkema (Oosterenderweg 11), Van Vliet (Kogerweg 155) and Zoetelief (Burgerdijk 4).
