Solo theater Three Kings by Nico Meurs
Sunday, October 4, 2026 Actor Nico Meurs brings the theatre solo *Three Kings* to De Vermaning in Den Hoorn. In this performance, he embodies Patrick, who looks back on his father and on a series of grand plans, disappointments, and self-deception. *Three Kings* is a funny yet poignant play about fathers, sons, and the complexity of human relationships. The play was written by Stephen Beresford and is directed by Maarten Elout. It is being performed on the Dutch stage for the first time. This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
