Exhibition ‘Playing and toys’ in the Oudheidkamer The temporary exhibition in the Oudheidkamer, the charming museum in the centre of Den Burg, is entirely dedicated to playing and toys. What did children play with in the past? And how does that differ from today’s toys? On the upper floor of the authentically furnished house, you can discover how playing changed over the centuries. Don’t forget to visit the atmospheric herb garden behind the museum. The Museum card is valid.

In one of the oldest houses on Texel, in the center of Den Burg, you will find the small museum De Oudheidkamer. The beautiful house is furnished with furniture and items from the 19th century. Texel history Are you curious about how people lived on Texel at that time? When you step into the De Oudheidkamer, you go back in time. You will find clothes and utensils there. You can also take the true or nonsense quiz to find out more about life in the past. A historical tour of Den Burg is organized every Wednesday from the Oudheidkamer. Look for more details in our agenda via 'What's on'. Herb garden As an oasis of peace in the center of Den Burg, there is a herb garden behind the Oudheidkamer. All kinds of plants and shrubs with a special story grow in the garden.
