Stichting Integratie Gehandicapten Texel (SIGT) manages a number of (self-driving) beach wheelchairs that can be used at the beach pavilions. At Beach Pavilion Paal 9 (Den Hoorn) it is possible to rent a children's beach wheelchair or Cadweazle. This makes the beach of Texel even more accessible for people with disabilities and the elderly who want to drive independently along the high-water line. Please note: NOT through the water! A lifting platform is also available at Paal 9. The lifting platform can be booked free of charge, but you must arrange a caregiver for the lifting platform yourself. A manual can be downloaded from the SIGT website: sigttexel.nl Times: daily between 11:00 - 20:00. You book a time slot for 1 hour. Price: € 20.00 per 1 hour (for the Cadweazle).
