Annual TEEVA exhibition
March 6 to April 7, 2026 TEEVA (Texel's One and Only Free Academy) consists of a group of amateur painters who have been meeting weekly for years for inspiration and socializing. In the summer, they meet outdoors, in the winter, in the seclusion of De Vermaning. They also regularly pick up their brushes outside. It has become a wonderful tradition that they annually exhibit their work to the public. Participants are: Greet Bruin, Tineke Nijman, Marja Keijser, Dienus Bol, Dirk Terpstra, Jack Betsema, Maarten Smit, and Hans Reints. They will be working on-site on Thursday afternoons from 2:00 PM. This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
