Uitmarkt BuitenGewoon Texel

Thursday, May 14, 2026 Please note: this year, the outdoor program has been cancelled due to the poor weather forecast! The indoor performances and activities will proceed as planned. The Texel CultuurEiland Foundation is holding the BuitenGewoon Texel Outdoor Market in the center of Den Burg. This market features performances by choirs, musicians, and other artists. There is also an art and culture market featuring many Texel artists. Proeflokaal De Zwaan, in collaboration with the Texel Brewery, is providing a genuine Texel beer. Furthermore, a number of food trucks will be present. It promises to be a wonderful, diverse spectacle featuring music, art, and culture! Read the full program on the Texel CultuurEiland website: https://www.texelcultuureiland.nl/uitmarkt This year, BuitenGewoon Texel is going all out with new activities. At the Helium House, young people can enjoy cabaret by Jasper Smit and participate in the “Stik Goed Bezig” workshop, where they will be crafting with disposable plastic. Furthermore, at the art and culture market, there is a Street Art workshop led by Remco Koopman. Young musicians are also given plenty of space, with performances by The Folkeys and Out of the Blue, among others—talents who deserve a bigger stage. This year's big surprise is the closing act on the Groeneplaats: the band Shynis, featuring Texel native Florian de Vries. Additionally, visitors will get a sneak peek of Sompop with the energetic garage punk band C’est Qui. ’t Schoutenhuys will be transformed into an atmospheric listening cabaret café, where visitors can enjoy intimate music, performing arts, and cabaret in an intimate setting. From 7:30 PM, the afterparty kicks off at Proeflokaal De Zwaan, with live music from the band Opskuur and The Shinys. Times: 12:00 - 18:30 The Uitmarkt is free to visit
