Join Wadden expert Marcel from Txgids on the mudflats! Get to know this wild landscape of Texel, which is a World Heritage Site for good reason. Everything will be covered: birds, shellfish, lugworms, crabs, shrimp, algae, and much more. Naturally, there will also be active fishing to see what lives in the mudflats. With respect for nature, Txgids will show you the way, while you create a memory you will never forget. Please note: a minimum number of participants applies to this excursion. In the event of too few participants or bad weather, you will be informed at least 1 hour in advance whether the excursion can take place. Dogs are not allowed. Tight high boots, sturdy lace-up shoes (no Velcro), or water shoes are mandatory, and clothing may get dirty. From April through October, loan boots are no longer available, but loan shoes (with laces) are; you can pick them up at the guide bus for €1 per pair. You are, of course, always welcome to bring your own shoes. Shoes and socks will get wet. After use, rinse immediately with fresh/tap water and then dry. Participation is possible from the age of nine. Unfortunately, children in a stroller or carrier cannot join. Furthermore, a reasonable level of fitness is required.
