Story festival 'Verhalen in de wind'

Saturday August 31, 2024 In De Waal, the smallest village on Texel, the storytelling festival 'Verhalen in de wind' (“Stories in the Wind”) is taking place for the tenth time. Storytellers are present in seven Waalder living rooms, who captivate visitors for half an hour with an exciting, moving or comic story. The visitors then switch living rooms and go to the next storyteller, who will surprise them again with his or her story. In this way, festival goers visit three storytellers of their choice during the afternoon. When purchasing the tickets, the visitor can choose between the narrators. Time: the performances are given at 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM. At 5.30 pm it is possible to participate in a rich and tasty hot buffet in the village hall “De Wielewaal”. From 7:00 PM, after the communal meal, all seven storytellers will tell a short story of about five minutes in the village hall. This is followed by the typically Dutch, cinematic musical performance “The Washing Water” by Gerda Hoogendijk, Jean-Marie Dosogne and Janet van Dam. Costs: afternoon program €15 and evening program €15. A Passe-Partout for the afternoon and evening program, including the hot buffet and a drink, costs €45. Information about and sales of tickets for 'Verhalen in de wind' can be found on the website: www.verhalenindewind.wordpress.com
