The Wadden Church is open to visitors on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Volunteers provide information about the living conditions on the island, village life, the organ, the shepherds, the weather and the sea, the beers, the farmers, religion and municipal politics. There are many topics to talk about, but silence is also beautiful. Light a candle for people and animals that are still present in the mind or heart. The church and the organ are both national monuments, built in 1840, completely renovated in 2012. Equipped with cavity walls, double glazing for monuments and an insulated hood. Unique in the Netherlands. The pulpit comes from the English church in The Hague. Queen Elisabeth 1st, (always a virgin), who helped William of Orange send an auxiliary army with 1000 horses to the battle against Alva and his pack, received a church with a pulpit from Elisabeth. The relief army was defeated and destroyed by the Spanish. But the pulpit is still there and works every Sunday in the Wadden Church. Opening hours: in the months of July and August on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 16:00.

The Waddenkerk is a stone's throw from the Wadden Sea. This church dates from 1841. The church is used by the Wadden Community, a Reformed church community (PKN). New church This church is still quite 'new'. The Eierlandse polder dried up in 1835 and made way for the village of De Cocksdorp. Four years later, the construction of this Reformed church started. Where other churches on the island have a long history, this church of De Cocksdorp is one of the youngest on Texel.
