Wadden Bird Festival - Bird art workshop
Sunday May 12, 2024 The excursion is a walking excursion. During the bird art workshop by Nicolas van Overmeeren called 'You have to look and look' you will look for birds in a different way. Nicolas takes you to a beautiful bird area, where he teaches you how to draw birds properly during the excursion. Simply drawing as if working with watercolor is possible with Nicolas. Nicolas van Overmeeren is a well-known Belgian artist and birdwatcher. He combines both hobbies and creates beautiful bird art. The proceeds from this excursion will benefit the bird charity of the Wadden Bird Festival 2023; the protection of the Oystercatcher and Sandwich Tern. This art excursion is suitable for young and old.

Important to know
You bring your own materials on this excursion. Your own sketchbook, pencil and chair are required, but watercolor paint and brushes are also welcome. If you have your own binoculars, it is useful to take them with you.

At the Bird Information Centre in De Cocksdorp you are at the right address for information about bird watching, photography and filming on Texel. You can also go here for binoculars and other bird products. Information about birds In the centre you will find all kinds of information about birds. Such as the most recent sightings of birds on the island. In the centre all current sightings are clearly displayed on a large map. There is also an extensive library with bird books. Beautiful bird films are played on the large LCD TVs. And in the display cases there are many stuffed birds, which you can view up close. Shop and excursions In the Bird Information Centre you will also find a shop with nature conservation articles and binoculars. You can go here for good binoculars from Swarovski, Zeiss and Bynolyt.
