The Zeemanskerk in Oudeschild was inaugurated in 1650. Mainly by sailors attending Sunday worship. Among them also the well-known Dutch naval hero Michiel de Ruyter with his family. Due to the large crowds, the church was expanded in 1740. The interior tells the story of the maritime past of the Zeemanskerk. The church can be visited, if desired you will receive an explanation about the building. You can also take a moment for rest and meditation.
