Boer Jens Boer Jens runs a farm with Texel sheep and white chickens on Oosterweg, between Oosterend and Oost. This is a place where you get a clear taste of everyday farm life on Texel: meadows, traditional field boundaries and products from the farm itself. A good stop for anyone who enjoys local food, wool and the open countryside. Farmland between Oosterend and Oost Many of the meadows around the farm are bordered by tuunwallen, the traditional Texel earth walls that mark the fields. The Boerenommetje walking route runs through the farmland. It gives you a close look at the landscape near Oosterend, with sheep in the fields and the quiet atmosphere of the eastern side of the island. Products from the farm In the small farm shop, Boer Jens sells products such as lamb, raw wool and knitting wool from his own animals. The lambs spend at least 100 days out in the meadow. The animals are slaughtered on Texel. Fresh eggs from the white chickens are also available every day from a small stall on the farmyard. A quiet stop on the farmyard The farmyard has a rest point with coffee and tea. The farm shop is open Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 16:00.
