
The Texel mustard factory is located in a farmhouse dating from 1899. The Texel Mustard Factory uses the mustard seeds grown on Texel to make various types of mustard. Welcome to the mustard factory shop Only the mustard factory shop is open to the public; there are no demonstrations. Upon request, you can learn how the mustard is made. You can also sample the mustard. Local ingredients are used, such as Texel mustard seeds, sea fennel, cranberries, rosemary, and beer. Black chervil is added as a special seasoning. This is a rare herb in Europe, but on Texel, it grows in various locations in the countryside. Mustard caviar and mustard oil True delicacies are mustard caviar and mustard oil. Mustard caviar is used as a topping for small dishes such as fish, cheese, eggs, hummus, etc. They are little gems of flavor! The mustard oil is cold-pressed from black mustard seeds and is a thick, rich oil with a nutty flavor. It's delicious in a dressing or plain for dipping with good bread and a few grains of sea salt. The mustard is available at the mustard factory's shop and at various (farm) stores on the island.
