Oosterend has one butcher shop, that is the Butchery of Rob and Meta Maas, 'de zaak vol smaak'. This traditional butcher shop specializes in Texel lamb, pork and beef and has a sausage factory. Meat from the island Rob and Meta buy locally as much as possible, so they know the origin of every piece of meat. The lamb is available from early spring to late autumn and from carefully selected Texel lambs. The beef comes from the blond cows that walk on De Hoge Berg. The pork comes from free-range pigs from De Cocksdorp. Own sausage factory Rob and Meta have their sausage factory in Oosterend. Sausages such as smoked sausage, liver sausage, grilled sausage and dry sausage are made here. Do you have (diet) wishes? The sausages can be made to measure. It is also possible to vacuum the sausages, so that they can be stored for a longer period of time or are suitable for taking with you on the return journey.
