The Wadden side of Texel exudes a completely different atmosphere than the dune-rich west side. Nature and bird lovers will find themselves in paradise here: there are many farmlands and nature reserves that form an important breeding and foraging place for countless birds. Hoeve Margriet has a quiet camping site and holiday home in a rural location. From a large part of the campsite you have a view of the protected village of Oosterend, 2 kilometers away. The Waddendijk is a few minutes by bike from your camping spot. The cycle path over the dike takes you past nature reserves Ottersaat, Wagejot and Utopia. On the dike at Oosterend is the Iron Cape, a fireless beacon from the mid-19th century. Behind the dike - between Oosterend and the fishing village of Oudeschild - is a small surfing beach.
