Texel has several forest areas on the west side of the island. Texel residents call the vast forest between De Koog and Den Hoorn ''de Dennen''. Boerencamping Zijm is located in a quiet and rural location on the edge of the forest, near Den Hoorn. The camping area is well sheltered from the wind. The campsite is the ideal base for discovering the untouched nature of Texel. From your camping pitch you cycle within 10 minutes - through forest and dune area - to the vast North Sea beach. The De Bollenkamer nature reserve is located in the dune area between beach posts 9 and 12. Beautiful footpaths have been laid out in this area where you can walk between Exmoor ponies and Scottish highlanders. The beach is also within walking distance. The campsite is located in a walking area, such as the lamb walk, also multi-days such as the Texel route.
