Oudeschild sometimes floods a few times a year when there are storms or spring tides. If there is high tide, this is beautiful to see. The view of the Wadden Sea means you have an expansive view of what kind of weather is coming. You can also feel the wind well at this place.

Oudeschild is a real fishing village and is therefore the home port of the Texel fishing fleet.
