Centrally located on the holiday island of Texel lies the smallest village on the island: De Waal. The quiet and friendly atmosphere are typical of the village with historic streets, several beautiful farms and old houses with facades. Hotel Brasserie Rebecca is located in a farmhouse on the Hogereind. At the end of this picturesque street is a charming old farmhouse in which the Waelstee Texel Museum is located. De Waal borders the special nature reserve Waalenburg. Through this polder with old creeks, colorful meadows and orchids, there is a beautiful walking route. The vast North Sea beach is 8 kilometers from Hotel Brasserie Rebecca.

From the hotel it is easy to walk the Sommeltjespad.
The Sommeltjes pad is a walking path near the village De Waal. It leads you through “tuunwallen” and fields of sheep, over the oldest part of Texel and through nature reserve Waalenburg. The Lieuw has made a walking path from Oosterend to de Slufter. This crossing, over mainly farmland, shows how the northern part of Texel was reclaimed.
