There's so much to tell about the rich history and beautiful surroundings of Den Hoorn. Guide Paul Dekker takes you on a journey of discovery you won't soon forget. This special excursion begins at Paul's home, where he displays his self-curated museum collection. He'll show you, for example, antiquities he encounters during his daily forays as a beachcomber/treasure hunter/amateur archaeologist. During the walk through and around Den Hoorn, we'll explore prehistory, the Dutch East India Company (VOC) period, and World War II. Paul knows all about military matters, such as the location of bombs and downed planes. He also has knowledge of the medicinal and edible plants you'll encounter in the landscape. He'll take you along surprising paths you wouldn't easily find on your own. The excursion lasts a full three hours, and experience shows that those hours fly by! Please note: This excursion requires a minimum number of participants. In the event of insufficient participants or bad weather, you will be notified in advance whether the excursion can take place.
