Golfbaan De Texelse 2

The Texelse golf course awarded with Green Key Gold again

De Texelse golf course has once again been awarded the Green Key Gold certificate.

Green Key Gold

The golf course at Vakantiepark De Krim has held the Green Key Gold certification since 2022 – the international certification for sustainable businesses in the recreation sector. Only organisations that meet strict requirements in areas such as energy, water, waste, mobility and nature conservation are eligible. There are three levels within this certification: bronze, silver and gold.

What makes the Texel golf course so sustainable?

The golf course operates sustainably in various ways, with respect for nature and the environment. Some examples:

  • The water storage facility on the site collects rainwater from the adjacent De Krim Holiday Park. This basin has a capacity of 15,000 m³ and is covered with solar panels that generate sustainable electricity.
  • The car park has charging stations for electric cars.
  • Insect hotels have been installed to enhance biodiversity on the site.
  • Thanks to its location between nature reserves, the golf course is home to special bird and plant species, such as the sand martin and the whinchat.
  • Local bus transport stops right outside the door.
  • Restaurant 't Hanenhuus uses organic and local products.
