On this Waddenhop trip, you will visit all five Wadden Islands - from Texel to Schiermonnikoog - in a fortnight. So pack your bag and hop along from island to island!

What is Wadden hopping?

Wadden hopping is the way to experience the Wadden Islands in all their charm. During this 14-day trip, you hop from island to island, discovering the most beautiful spots of the Wadden Islands by boat and bike. The uniqueness of this trip? You travel entirely in the rhythm of the Wadden. This is because the boat crossings depend on the tide and the weather. And nothing is more unpredictable than that.

Prices are based on 2 people in a double room at the accommodations. So this is good to take into account. Please note! Wadden hopping is not suitable for wheelchair users and the disabled. This is in connection with limited quayside facilities during the trip.

The programme from day to day

Day 1: To Texel

Today, you will travel to your accommodation on Texel at your own expense, where your Wadden Sea adventure will begin.
You will stay on Texel for 3 nights.

Day 2 & 3: Texel

Discover the vast beaches, charming villages and unique Duinen van Texel National Park. Cycle past sheep pastures, sample Texel beer and visit the lighthouse at De Cocksdorp for breathtaking views. Whether you come for peace and quiet, nature or adventure, Texel has it all.

Day 4: To Vlieland

At De Cocksdorp, you will depart on a former fishing boat to the Vliehors on Vlieland, also known as the Sahara of the North. The crossing takes about half an hour. Upon arrival at the Vliehors, a large yellow truck, the Vliehors Express, will be waiting to take you across the beach to Het Posthuys in about half an hour. From Het Posthuys, you will travel by public transport (not included) to your accommodation in the village of Oost-Vlieland. You can also hire a bicycle at Het Posthuys.

You will stay on Vlieland for two nights.

Day 5: Vlieland

Vlieland is a car-free paradise for those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers. On this beautiful Wadden Island, you can enjoy walking on wide beaches, cycling through forests and dunes, or taking in the view from the iconic lighthouse. In the cosy village of Oost-Vlieland, you will find pleasant terraces and charming shops. Experience the tranquillity and beauty of nature during your stay on Vlieland.

Day 6: To Terschelling

With Doeksen shipping company from Vlieland to Terschelling. The crossing takes about half an hour. From your accommodation, it is a 5-minute walk to the harbour. Upon arrival on Terschelling, you can take public transport (not included) to your accommodation in the village of Midsland. Of course, you can also rent a bicycle at the ferry terminal and cycle to your accommodation in Midsland.

You will stay on Terschelling for 3 nights.

Day 7 and 8: Terschelling

Terschelling combines lively villages with impressive nature. Cycle along more than 70 kilometres of cycle paths, discover the Boschplaat, a unique nature reserve and one of the two Dark Sky Parks in the Netherlands. Visit the historic Brandaris, the oldest lighthouse in the Netherlands. In the evening, enjoy local specialities and music in one of the cosy cafés. Terschelling offers the perfect mix of nature, culture and conviviality.

Day 9: To Ameland

Today, you will board a sailing ship and sail across the mudflats from Terschelling to Ameland. The ship is expected to depart from Terschelling at approximately 10:00 a.m. and arrive at Ameland at approximately 5:00 p.m.
The travel time depends in part on the tide and wind.

The stay on Ameland is 2 nights.

Day 10: Ameland

Ameland is known for its friendly atmosphere, wide beaches and beautiful villages. Explore nature by bicycle, climb the lighthouse in Hollum or take a boat trip to spot seals. Taste local delicacies and discover why so many visitors return time and time again. A stay on Ameland means relaxation, nature and a pure island experience.

Day 11: To Schiermonnikoog

Today, you will board a sailing ship again for the crossing from Ameland to Schiermonnikoog. You are expected to depart from Ameland at approximately 10:00 a.m. and arrive at Schiermonnikoog at approximately 5:00 p.m.

You will stay on Schiermonnikoog for two nights.

Day 12: Schiermonnikoog

Schiermonnikoog is the smallest inhabited Wadden Island, but it boasts magnificent nature. The entire island is a National Park full of dunes, forests and salt marshes teeming with birds. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and enjoy peace, space and fresh sea air. Cycle or walk through unspoilt nature and discover the charm of this car-free village. For those seeking peace and nature, a stay on Schiermonnikoog is the ultimate escape.

Day 13: Lauwersoog

After breakfast at your hotel, your Waddenhop adventure comes to an end. The boat from Schiermonnikoog to Lauwersoog is not included, so you can decide for yourself when you want to leave for Lauwersoog.
