Den Burg holds a Summer market every Wednesday, with loads of vendors offering regional products, Texel artisan wares, clothes and souvenirs along the high street and main square. There’s also live music and activities for kids.

Hoornder Donderdag” has been a fixture in Den Hoorn for years. With loads to buy and see, this characterful market is alternately held on De Herenstraat in the town centre or on the field outside the church each Thursday.

Get your seafood fix in Oudeschild every Friday in July and August at the “Havenmarkt” on the quay. Alongside fried fish, you’ll also find artisanal products and souvenirs.

On Saturdays in May und June De Cocksdorp holds a small market on the main square, featuring a variety of vendors, food and beverages and entertainment. From the beginning of July untill the end of August there is a Summermarket in the centre of De Cocksdorp. In Oosterend, the “Strendermarkt” is traditionally held on the second and fourth Saturdays of August.

In May, June, September and October there’s also a Sunday market in De Koog.

Christmas markets

Oosterend has a large annual Christmas market, when the whole village is decked out in Anton Pieck storybook style. Den Burg always rings out the year with a winter market offering a varied music programme, food and beverages, fire pits and more. There’s also a Christmas market at Maartenhuis, with homemade goodies, a living nativity scene and choir performances. Stock up on seasonal gifts and other items hand-crafted by locals and Maartenhuis residents.
