Black Angus cow

Hiking trail Along large grazers

This walking route starts in Den Hoorn and takes you past beautiful nature. Several large grazers, such as cattle and horses, live in this area. At the moment, the Scottish Highlanders do not live on the island anymore. In particular, you now see the black Galloway cattle. They eat everything and make sure the dunes don't get too rough.

We have mapped out a walking route of 3 or 6.8 kilometres, allowing you to enjoy the landscape to the full. Dogs are welcome on this route (on a lead).

  • Length: approx. 6.8 km, can be shortened to 3 km
  • Estimated time: 90 minutes, can be shortened to 45 minutes
  • Pram and wheelchair: suitable
  • Dogs: allowed if kept on a lead
  • Accessible: all year round
  • Tip: boots may be required

A GPX file can be used on the phone with apps such as Komoot, Garmin Connect and Strava.
