Sports plane

Do you want to get to Texel in your own plane? Of course you can! Texel International Airport is a modern airport with a grass landing strip, situated in Eierland. It’s open daily from sunrise to sunset. Airport managers Ed and Mike de Bruijn are at your service, and will be happy to help you with a flight plan for the journey back.

Friendliest airfield in the Netherlands

General aviation pilots love coming to Texel. The easy-going atmosphere and the helpfulness of the airfield managers are highly appreciated. It’s hardly surprising that Texel has been dubbed ‘the friendliest airfield in the Netherlands’! A visit to Texel Airfield is a pleasant outing.

Lots to do

The airfield is on an extended aviation area in the Eierland polder, in the northern part of Texel. In addition to the landing strip you will find a restaurant with a large terrace. It’s a great place to be, particularly in good weather, with its view of the landing parachutists and the aerial traffic. The restaurant serves an excellent meal and a delicious lunch.

A little further on you will find the interesting Texel Aviation and War Museum, with its intriguing exhibitions on small aviation in general and that of Texel in particular. The terrain also houses the Texel Gliding Club and the Texel Paracentre. Would you like to see more of Texel?

Sleeping among the aircraft

Hotel De Vlijt has a number of luxury rooms available, while the adjacent Boutique Hotel Texel has excellent overnight stay facilities. This hotel has an extensive wellness centre and a swimming pool. Your aircraft can also stay the night on Texel!

Covered shelter

Texel airfield has some facilities for keeping your aircraft in a hangar. Ask the airport managers for information. You can also fill-up at the airport. For any technical problems you can approach Vliegtuigonderhoud Texel, a specialist maintenance company for small aviation.
