Stopping at your door

When you arrive on Texel, you can take bus number 28 to travel from the ferry port to Den Burg or De Koog Perhaps your destination is not on the line 28 route. Then when arriving on Texel you board a smaller Texelhopper minibus which will be waiting. The Texel bus terminal is on the right-hand side. It’s advisable to book your journey in the Texelhopper at least an hour in advance. When booking be sure to indicate not just your destination on Texel, but also the fact that you will be boarding at the ferry terminal. You can book through the www.texelhopper.nl website or by phone on 0222-784000. Show your Texelhopper ticket to the driver when boarding the bus.

The return trip is easy

Do you also want to return to the ferry terminal or station by bus? Line 28 takes the same route back. A bus ticket costs € 3.00. You won't need to buy a ticket for the ferry; the ticket you buy for the ferry service is always a return ticket and you won't be asked to show it when you leave the island. When you arrive at the ferry port in Den Helder, you will find that you are able to take the bus to the train station without showing a ticket; this trip is free. To use this service, take the exit on the right hand side of the ferry and walk to the bus stop, which you will find nearby. Because the bus needs to tie in with the departure times for the train, travellers are expected to walk to and board the bus quickly, using one of the three doors available.
Attention: you can't pay cash on the bus. PIN of OV-chipcard are the only possibilty.
