Texel is known for its many local products. Special beer, fish, cheese and many other goodies. You can taste many of these products in local restaurants, on the market or... during a tasting! We give an overview:
Did you know that Texel has its own vineyard? Wijngaard de Kroon van Texel organises tours and tastings where you will learn about the origins of the vineyard and the winemaking process. After the tour, there is a tasting with three wines.
When? From mid-May to the end of October every Friday and Saturday

Curious about the beers from Texel's various breweries? Then come and enjoy a tasting at Proeflokaal De Zwaan. You will taste a beer from each of the island's five breweries in the setting of Texel's oldest pub! In our app you will find a voucher that entitles you to a free portion of bitterballen to accompany this tasting.
When? Weekly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday

At Brouwerij Stokerij TX, you will receive a warm welcome in the taproom. From here, the brewmaster or distiller will take you into the brewery for a unique behind-the-scenes look. You will learn all about the brewing process. This is followed by a detailed explanation in the distillery, where the process from kettle to bottle is explained. During the tour, you will taste TX cocktail in a tasting glass and two tasting glasses of TX beer.

The brewer at Bierbrouwerij De Boei will be happy to explain how they make various speciality beers and other drinks. The tour goes from Bierbrouwerij De Boei to Distilleerderij de Lepelaar, with a look into the world of ‘life water’, liqueurs, gin and the successful Texel Whisky project. The tour includes two tasting glasses of beer, a tasting glass in the distillery and a glass of Texel Whisky.
When? Weekly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday

For the Texels Experience, take a seat in the BelevingsGlop (a Glop is a narrow alley or street on “sien Texels”). While enjoying three different Texels beers, you will be explained the history, ingredients and brewing process. Feel free to ask the beers what you want to know about the beer! Afterwards, you will be given a Texel souvenir to take home.
When? Weekly from Tuesday to Sunday

During a guided tour, you will get a unique look into the brewing kitchen of the Tesselaar Family Brewery. See, feel, smell, taste and enjoy life in the brewery. During the tour, you will get a tasting of 3 different beers in tasting glasses. The tour concludes in the shop where you can take away something nice for home.

Join the Tesselse Oesterman! During the approximately 1.5-hour oyster tour, oysterman Martin Zeeman will show you that oysters, cockles and periwinkles are up for grabs along the Wadden side of Texel. During the tour, you will get explanations about the oyster and, of course, while enjoying a glass of bubbles, there will be time for extensive tasting.
When? From April to October on various days

Texel Culinair is a three-day culinary event in September. During these days, around 100 different small dishes are prepared by chefs from over 20 Texel restaurants, pubs, eateries and catering companies. As a visitor, you can sample plenty of this parade of culinary delights, prepared with products from the island.

During the HavenVIStijn in August, you will be introduced to real fishing life. The fishermen will show you everything to do with fishing. They explain fishing techniques and various types of fish. There are demonstrations and music by the Oudeschilder Visserskoor, among others. You can also take a trip with KNRM and there are fun activities for children.
When? The second Saturday of August
