Campsites represent almost a third of all accommodation on Texel, which is not strange as it has always been a favoured destination for campers. Although the majority of campsites on the island are closed in winter, in recent years the number of campers in campervans or well-insulated caravans has been growing – on Texel too. This holds true for the summer, but certainly also for the colder winter months.
Camping in winter has long been a thing in countries that offer skiing, but even closer to home people are increasingly taking camping holidays in winter. This makes perfect sense, because camping in winter is an enjoyable and also adventurous activity. It allows you to get out into nature, campsites aren’t as busy as they are in summer, and you get to see a completely different view of nature than you would in summer. And camping in winter gives you the camping experience without the bugs!
You can book a campervan stay on our website at campsite De Koorn-aar. The campsite at De Krim accommodates caravans in winter.
Vakantiepark De Koorn-aar is located at the edge of the Texel woods (Texelse bos) along the western side of the island. The park gives you direct access to the woodland with its many cycle paths, horse trails and footpaths. The four roomy, paved campervan pitches are in a pretty, leafy area offering plenty of peace and quiet and privacy. The campervan pitches at De Koorn-aar all have their own sanitary facilities.
De Krim is an extremely well-appointed holiday park on Texel. It is located near De Cocksdorp, not far from the lighthouse and De Slufter nature reserve, and less than two kilometres from the beach. This 'Comfort pitch green' is located along the edge of the park next to the Krimbos woods. The premium pitch with electric hook-up (10 Amp), cable TV, water and waste water connection is for pitching a tent or a caravan with a side tent (up to 4 m²). The heated sanitary facilities are close to the parking area. Water supply is close by.
