The beaches of Texel are perfect for walking your dog. There are no less than 30 kilometres of beach, and dogs are allowed to run free on most of it. Of course, it's nice to be able to sit down with your dog on a terrace after your walk for a cup of coffee, a drink, lunch or dinner. Fortunately, most of the beach pavilions on Texel welcome dogs.

Dogs are not allowed at Club 17.

What should you take into account?

• Do you have an older dog that cannot walk far? Then choose, for example, beach pavilion Paal 9 or Faro Beach, where the car park is right next to the beach.
• Do not take your dog to a pavilion when it is very hot.
• Always keep your dog on a leash at the pavilion.
• Make sure your dog is not in the way or in the aisle where people and other dogs can walk by.
• Dogs are not allowed on chairs or benches.
• Many pavilions have water bowls, but it is wise to bring your own.
• You may want to bring a chew toy so that your dog has something to do while you enjoy a snack.
• Not everyone is fond of dogs. Make sure your dog remains calm and does not disturb other guests.
