Are you going to experience the national arrival of Saint Nicolas up close? Here you will find tips and information for an unforgettable weekend on Texel.
Before you come to Texel, you can follow Saint Nicolas and his helpers on their journey to Texel. From 10 November to 5 December, you can see Saint Nicolas and his helpers every day in the Sinterklaasjournaal at 6 p.m. on NPO Zapp (NPO 3). We look forward to welcoming Saint Nicolas and his helpers.
At the Fonteinsnol, you can take a pleasant 2.7 km walk through the woods. Along the way, children can climb, play hide and seek in the play forest and climb the observation tower to look out over the treetops. The route is pram and wheelchair friendly.
On 31 October, the renovated walking network will be officially opened! With 268 kilometres of walking paths, clear route signs and walking junctions, you can easily plan your own walk.
Extra handy: with our Island Route booklet, you can follow ready-made walking and cycling routes along the most beautiful spots on Texel. The booklet is available in our shop at Emmalaan 66 in Den Burg. We are also happy to help you with personal tips.
Visit one of Texel's museums where children can discover stories and go on treasure hunts. A great way to discover Texel in a different way.
Feel the wind in your hair, get some fresh air: the beach is perfect for getting some fresh air together. Bring a ball or kite, or go looking for shells along the tide line.
Texel has 140 kilometres of cycle paths. Get on your bike and explore the island along forests, dunes and villages, which is also a wonderful experience in autumn. We have put together various cycling routes for you.
An overview of activities and promotions will follow shortly.
The arrival of Saint Nicolas on 15 November in the harbour of Oudeschild is open to the public. More information about parking and any additional measures surrounding the arrival will follow later.
