**Ecomare - nature museum & seal sanctuary** Just outside De Koog, in the dunes near beach post 17, you’ll find Ecomare: a nature museum and seal sanctuary in one. Here, you discover the nature of Texel, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea up close. You meet seals, see marine animals and learn more about life in and around the sea. **Seals, marine animals and bird care** At Ecomare, you get close to the seals. At 11:00 and 15:30, the animal keeper gives a presentation at the seal enclosures. You hear more about the animals, and the seals usually receive fish during the presentation. You also see other marine animals and visit the bird sanctuary. **Nature of Texel, mudflats and North Sea** The exhibitions focus on the mudflats, the North Sea and the nature of Texel. In the Whale Hall, you see skeletons of several whales and dolphins.
