2. Seals up close

Do some up-close seal and sea birds watching at Ecomare. Discover the various marine animals at the marine aquarium and learn more about Texel nature at the museum. A fun, educational trip!

3.Texel chocolate

Great for under the Christmas tree: Texel chocolate. Have you tried the chocolate with Juttertje yet? And did you know that there is also a chocolate TESO ferry? You can find De Texelse Chocolaterie shop in Den Burg.

4. Winter hikes

There are several walking routes in de dunes around De Slufter nature reserve. Why not follow the semi-paved trail from De Slufter steps and enjoy the 0.8km family route? Fun for the whole family!

5. Christmas shopping

Still looking for a great Christmas gift, Texel souvenir or new outfit? Den Burg is a shopper’s paradise. Several shops will be open for longer on Sunday.

6. Christmas carols under the tree

Join in with carol singing on Christmas Eve in De Koog. Gather around the tree in Dorpsplein from 7:00 pm and sing popular carols. A tradition that is bound to get you into the Christmas spirit!

7. Taste the Christmas atmosphere in Den Burg

Santa Claus makes a tour of the village on Saturday. Taste the Christmas atmosphere, enjoy the delicacies at the Stenenplaats and take a picture with Santa Claus.

8. Christmas dinner show

This year, De Toegift @Klif12 presents a theatre dinner. Experience an evening of theatre and enjoy a three-course dinner in between. Organised on on different days. Booking preferred.

9. Relaxing in the dark

Texel has a stunning cinema in the centre of Den Burg. When it’s cold and bleak outside, retreat into the warmth of the cinema and watch the latest films. Cinema Texel is open daily from 10:00 to midnight.

10. New Year’s Dive

Start the year with a refreshing dip in the North Sea! And afterwards? Warm up with a Texel tipple and pea soup, of course!
