Are you heading to Texel by car or motorbike? The ferries can accommodate around 300 vehicles and 1,750 passengers. Texels Eigen Stoomboot company has been running the crossings to Texel since 1907. As the name indicates, it’s a Texel company, and the majority of the shareholders are from Texel. The TESO ferries sail every day, 365 days a year, every hour from Texel to Den Helder and vice versa. The boat will ferry you between Texel and Den Helder with your car or motorbike quickly and easily. There’s no need to book.

Boat information for vehicles

You reach the terminal lanes via the ticket counter. Once on board, the TESO crew will direct you to the appropriate lane on the ship. You can reach the passenger deck and lounge by the stairs. Here you can sit at ease during the crossing.

Departures to Texel

TESO sails every day on the half-hour from Den Helder to Texel. The first sailing is at 6.30 a.m. (except on Sundays). The last boat always leaves at 9.30 p.m. On Sundays from 1 April to 1 October the first sailing is at 7.30, and at 8.30 a.m. the rest of the year. On busy days the ferry sails twice an hour. The last boat to Texel always leaves at 9.30 p.m. The last boat from Texel to Den Helder always leaves at 9.00 p.m.

Fares and discount days

Do you want to save money on the boat trip? On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays you can enjoy extra discount on a ticket. Only the day you depart from Den Helder for Texel counts for this off-peak rate. A TESO ticket is always a return ticket. View the fares for vehicles.

Buying a ferry ticket to Texel for the car

You can buy a ferry ticket for Texel in three ways:

• Online from the TESO website
• At the counter in the Den Helder ferry terminal
• For a passenger car or minibus which is no longer than 6.5 metres you can also buy a ticket from the self-service facility, to the right of the entrance.

Buying a ferry ticket to Texel for the motorbike

There are two ways of buying a ferry ticket for the motorbike:

• In the ferry terminal in Den Helder. Here you can buy a ticket either from the manned desk, or from the self-service facility, to the right of the entrance.
