5 tips for Easter on Texel

Frolicking lambs in the meadow, the first blooming flowers and many outdoor activities: Texel gives you the ultimate spring feeling. Easter is a great time to stay on Texel. With these five tips you will experience a great Easter holiday on Texel.

1. Spotting lambs

The Little Lambs Bike Trail (in Dutch) guides you to some of Texel’s most beautiful spots, where the meadows are filled with lambs. If you think lambs are lovely, you could cuddle them: well, here’s your chance. At Texel Sheep Farm, lambs are born in almost every month of the year.

2. Visit a easter market

Enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Durper Spring Market in De Cocksdorp on the Saturday before Easter, where you will find stalls selling all sorts of things, and a range of entertainment.

3. Go on a wildlife excursion!

Our tip for a spring getaway: visit the natural wildlife area of De Geul to see the largest colony of spoonbills in the Netherlands. You can book the excursion “Breeding area birds De Geul” via Ecomare. Or go on an excursion in nature reserve De Schorren and walk across the mudflats and through the creeks.

4. Visit a museum

Why not visit one of Texel’s museums? Go back in time at Museum Waelstee or learn more about the history of aviation on Texel at the Aviation and War Museum.

5. Find the golden egg

Easter egg hunt is traditionally organized in various places on the island. This is great fun for children!
